Knot TyingSailboat racing has a long tradition at IYC and on Cayuga Lake. Whether racing in small dinghies or large cruising sailboats, racing is an enjoyable and exciting sport for both the young and the "young at heart". Organized racing includes several Sunday afternoon "Series" races of the Cayuga Lake Cruising Fleet and J24 Fleet #51, as well as several regattas for both smaller (Laser, Optimus, Lightning) and larger boats. The Cayuga Lake Cruising Fleet includes boats of various sizes and speeds, which can compete together by using a time-handicap system (PHRF).
