Operational Guidelines for Club Grounds - Covid-19 Safety

  • Regardless of specific guidelines described below, all IYC members must abide by the New York State rules of physical distancing, masking, and allowable gathering size in place at the particular time.

Physical Spacing on the Grounds: Members must maintain spacing of 10 ft or more between family units (groups of lawn chairs or blankets on the lawn).  Masking is required for interacting with other members at a distance of 6 ft or less. Parents are responsible for insuring that children follow the same social distancing and masking guidelines.

Social Gathering Size: Please abide by NYS guidelines on gathering sizes.  Currently, this is no more than 25. Social distancing (6 ft) and masking rules still apply!

Lawn chairs: Members may bring their own blankets or lawn chairs or use chairs provided by the club.  If club chairs are used, members are asked to use only chairs sanitized by our lifeguard staff. Return your chairs to the proper location when done so that they may be cleaned.

Take-Out Food: Maintain physical distancing when picking up take-out food.  Please only use picnic tables that are appropriately spaced and wear masks if you dine with non-family members. Sanitize your hands before eating.

Trash: All members must place their own trash into the receptacles provided on club grounds.

Playground:  NYS rules state that masks must be worn In the playground by everybody over the age of 2.

Bathrooms:  Outside bathrooms are open (north of clubhouse and in the south pavilion); clubhouse bathrooms are open only when the restaurant is open.  All IYC bathrooms are professionally cleaned on a Mon-Wed-Fri schedule.  Please use the provided sanitizing spray to clean touched surfaces before and after using the bathrooms.  Hand sanitizer is provided outside each bathroom – please sanitize your hands after using the bathrooms.

    IYC-provided Kayaks and Paddleboards:

    • When the swimming area is open, sign out watercraft at the lifeguard station (IYC member number required).  When swimming is closed, you may take a boat without signing it out.
    • Boaters must bring their own life jackets.
    • Small watercraft will be sanitized by lifeguard staff.  Check with the lifeguard to make sure your boat has been cleaned and notify the lifeguards upon returning the boat.
