Youth Sailing Program

The Ithaca Yacht Club provides a youth sailing program for children from 8 to 17 years of age.  The program is open to all, but IYC family members receive a discount.

Sailors are required to be competent swimmers.  They must demonstrate the ability to swim 50 yards before engaging in the program.

Younger children sail single-handed Optimist dinghies then graduate to two-person 420's.  All training is done on Lake Cayuga within view of the Yacht Club.  Optional racing competition occurs at IYC and nearby sailing clubs.
