We are happy to announce that our swimming area is now open!

Hours are 11-7:30 weekdays and 11-4:45 on Fri-Sat-Sun (until further notice).

Because of covid-19 restrictions, there are a few different rules: please check in with the lifeguards before swimming; no more than 15 swimmers at a time and only 5 of those may be on the dock at any one time.

Groups on the Point are asked to stay socially distanced from other groups.  Lawn chairs need to be returned to their original location for sanitizing each day (do NOT leave chairs on the lawn). Wear masks around lifeguards.

Thanks to all for following our rules. We operate in cooperation with and by the approval of the Tompkins County Health Department.

Please take a look at the guidelines and rules for members using the IYC facility which have now been posted to the IYC web page.

The rules are part of our agreement with the Tompkins County Health Department which approves our operations under the NYS PAUSE order.  Your compliance with these rules ensures that IYC remains open!

    Dear IYC Parents:

We'd like to share information about the IYC Junior Roasts and to ask for your help in supporting this tradition (of more than 60 years!) at IYC by signing up to help serve the food one Thursday evening this summer.  Here is the link to sign up: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-XRUbA0GrHrKlbSR2Jp6o6tY-3WpkZqfzaHIY-as1Ok

But wait, you are thinking, what does this entail?? Not much! On your Jr. Roast night, you should arrive at 5:30. The IYC/Luna Staff will set out the tables, the condiments, and provide the burgers, hotdogs, buns and grilling equipment. You will also have a Jr. Roast buddy, so between the two of you, all you have to do is:

    1. Get the cash box from the IYC/Luna staff,

    2. Arrange the “dish to pass” contributions from parents on the table

    3. Collect cash from the kids at the table as they pass through, starting at 6pm  - ($3 per child)

    4. Ask the restaurant staff for anything we need – utensils, more ketchup, veggie burgers, etc.

    5. Help tidy up at the end of the meal, which is super simple since parents will come pick up their dishes

    6. Enjoy all the other Junior Roasts knowing you have done your part to support this awesome tradition!

We are also looking for grill master volunteers, which just requires a willingness to cook burgers and hotdogs at the end of the table! For each night, we need 2 table helpers and 1 grill master. Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-XRUbA0GrHrKlbSR2Jp6o6tY-3WpkZqfzaHIY-as1Ok

Pick a date, then tell your friends! Better yet, get them to take a shift with you!

Thanks and let us know if you have any questions!

Lindsay Anderson & Emily Russell (parent volunteers)

IYC is pleased to announce that we will be offering adult sailing lessons!  Lessons will be 2X weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning July 29 - August 14.

Adults will receive a US Sailing Learn to Sail book, along with instruction from 2 our certified sailing instructors.  You can expect to learn the anatomy of a sailboat, how to rig / de-rig, various points of sail both up and downwind, and hopefully enjoy the stunning scenery and breezes of Cayuga Lake. The cost is $200 for members and $250 for non-members.

Private lessons can also be arranged.

Please see our Adult Sailing webpage for further info.

Please join us for our annual trip up the lake to visit our friends at Red Jacket Yacht Club on Aug 24.  RJYC invites us every year and organizes a dinner and lawn games. Sailors start early for a long distance race to the club, but others motor or drive up to join the fun.

RJYC has a warm salt water pool and nice shower facilities, so bring the kids! A mooring field and dock are available. Most of time, we spend the night there - sleeping on boats or camping on the beautiful grounds (bring your own tent).

RJYC will have a cash bar (very reasonable prices!) and a chicken BBQ ($14 each). RJYC requests that dinners be reserved in advance. If you reserve, please show up (or send a payment later if you cannot make it)

Reserve your dinner spots by contacting Paul Kolb by Fri, Aug 9:

Paul Kolb (RJYC Fleet Captain) pkolb41@gmail.com or 585-732-3024

If you want to join the group sailing up the lake, contact CLCF Fleet captain, Ricky Bray for a start time:

Thanks to all our members who volunteered their time for one (or more) of the past weekend work events.  We had over 20 volunteers for each of the last three Saturdays and so we are in good shape for the opening of our season and the upcoming Mother's Day Brunch on May 12.
