Lifelong member of IYC, Peter Lent, passed away in his home on Wednesday, July 15th.   Peter was an active and staunch supporter of the Yacht Club through his 68 years as a member.   He sailed large and small sailboats mostly Stars, Comets, Lightnings and his family’s Coronado 27.  For those of you who knew him you will recall a dog came to the Club with him, there may have been several dogs over the years but the two most recent ones were Wolfgang, and still alive at 14 years old, is Murphy.  Peter was 91 years old.  His father, Ralph, was Commodore in the late '50's.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Ithaca Yacht Club on a date yet to be determined before the Club closes for this season.   An announcement will be forthcoming via this newsletter once the date has been set.

    Dear Fellow IYC Members:

Today, July 16th, our paving contractor will be working on the South Harbor access road, repairing the damage done to the pavement during last year’s August 5th Deluge.  Disrupted access to the South Harbor by road should be over with by the end of the day.

    We appreciate your understanding.
