About Cornell Autonomous Sailboat Team

Meet the Cornell Autonomous Sailboat Team! CUSail is a student-run engineering team that builds an autonomous sailboat throughout the school year to compete in the SailBot International Robotic Sailboat Regatta. Their mechanical subteam designs and builds the physical boat, while the navigation subteam equips it with sensors and programs the boat to steer on its own. By the end of the spring, the boat is challenged to sail through obstacle courses without human intervention at the annual competition. The team works on this project hoping that one day, autonomous marine vehicles will be able to make greater contributions in notable fields of scientific research.
